Look What We’re Learning
We had a great week in preschool! We learned a new song about squares that helped us remember how to make one. We also had fun with letter Aa by making alligators and ants on an anthill, finding hidden acorns with capital and lowercase Aa’s on them, and singing “The Ants Go Marching”. Everyone is doing a great job writing their first names and telling us the letters they use to spell them. Mrs. Delinda’s supervising teacher from CMU was here today and she was amazed at how well the kids could write and how much they knew about the letter Aa. We will move on to letter Tt next week, and our shape will be triangles. It will be good to have five full days of school next week!

Illnesses
Please remember the preschool illness policy when your child is sick. He/she must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of Tylenol or ibuprofen before they can return to school. We’ve had a couple cases of strep throat this week and want everyone to remain as healthy as possible. Delinda and I use Clorox and Lysol multiple times daily, but unfortunately preschoolers like to share germs so getting sick is inevitable! If your child needs to take medicine while at school, you must fill out a medication form before Delinda or I can administer it. We do have a refrigerator in our classroom in case the medications needs to be kept cool. Our illness policy is in the preschool handbook if you need to read it. Please notice that our policy is a little different than the rest of the school’s policy.
Our First Substitute
I will be leaving at 11:30 on Thursday for an appointment in Columbia so the kids will experience their first substitute teacher. Mrs. Delinda will still be here, but Vicki Moore will be my replacement that afternoon. Mrs. Vicki will also be the substitute for Mrs. Delinda during the month of November when she student teaches in first grade so we are glad the kids have the opportunity to meet her prior to then.
